I hadn’t done a teaser from “Unmatched Grace” yet. It’s the second novella in A Little Moon Madness.
“Grace, you’re not afraid of me, are you?”
“No.” She should be. She wasn’t.
A half-smile appeared—along with what looked like relief. “Good. I’m not using any manipulation either.”
Grace raised her eyebrows. “I can feel them. You’re using Lycan wiles on me.”
He kissed her knuckles. “I’m not. That’s just how you feel.”
She glared at him. “I honestly don’t think I’d feel like this about the Lycan who has come to kill me.”
Silas laughed, shaking his head, surprised again. “I’m not here to kill you.”
“Why are you here then? I’m not returning with you to the colony. It’s too late and….” How could she explain that she’d never felt like she’d belonged there? She’d rather die alone than live in a crowd. “Well, it’s just too late.”
“I’m not here to do that either. As it happens, I don’t belong to the colony. I’m here to save you.”
Grace’s eyes widened. Save her? “Why would you do that?” It would be dangerous. Really dangerous.
Silas grinned. “You’re my mate, Grace. Your father gave you to me in exchange for my soul seven years ago.”
Grace’s mouth dropped open, she snatched her hand from his, and stalked into the small house, slamming the door behind her.
